So far this week...

has been extremely busy, but it's been good. There's been a few Grrrr moments, but there's been some amazing moments as well. I received a call yesterday from the preschool that we've been trying to get Morgan into throughout the summer but there was a long waiting list, and they called to say there was a last minute opening and was I still interested- of course I said yes! It was definitely a God thing because Aaron and I had just figured pre-school just wasn't for this year. I'm thrilled with Morgan's teachers (all three of them) and Morgan is ecstatic! She starts next Friday. I kept looking at her today thinking how is she growing up sooo fast. I know the pre-school is only 3 days a week, but it's kind of bitter-sweet because it's a prelude to the next 13 years of school! I think I'll just take one year at a time, actually one day at a time is a little more my speed right now. I also enrolled Morgan in Awanas tonight, so I think that she's going to enjoy that too. She loves being around other people, she was talking non-stop after church tonight. She's amazing. Like a lot of other people, I'm probably going to be traveling over the weekend, so please keep us in your prayers for traveling safety. Also, my new camera has had a major malfunction this week and is going to have to be sent off to the Dealer, so I'll be without my camera for about 3-4 wks (that's been one of the Grrr's for the week) So everyone who knows me, knows that my camera pretty much goes everywhere with me. So hopefully, they get it fixed and back to me asap! Well that's all for tonight, it's going to be another crazy day tomorrow! I'll post some more pics of Morgan soon, since I haven't done that lately (sorry Mom!)

Human and only human...

I've come to the conclusion that a lot people consider women, especially moms superhumans and that a military wife is a completely invincible superwoman because as you know we're this whole other species that "knew what we were getting into when we married a man in the military!" I completely and whole heartedly disagree with that concept. And just like everyone else I am human and only human. Perfectly Imperfect. Three words that sum up this past week- frustration, defeat, and loneliness. I knew from the last deployment that the 2nd week is usually the hardest for me and this 2nd week was no exception. Obviously school is back in full swing here, and as I watch everyone else get into their own groove and routine and live their full and busy lives, I realize once again that I have yet to find my own niche here. Everyone that I know has been able to put down roots quickly here and find their own place and yet I feel like I'm still floundering looking for that place that I truly belong and can serve in. Isolation is something that isn't new to any military wife. Isolation from family, from friends, from a familiar place. We've been here over a year now and I know that God has a purpose for us here- he always has a purpose. And I realize that in my weakness He is made strong. This next week has to be better- it will be better. I am going to continue asking for the grace and strength to continue, wisdom in how to handle my wonderful daughter at this more than interesting 4 yr old stage she's in, and the guidance to a niche that I can truly belong and serve in. Tomorrow is another day with no mistakes in it, yet!

p.s. to the friend and her husband who were graciously willing to work on my broken down car this week, my sincerest thanks. and to my friends in WY and NC thank you for your e-mails and phone calls this week to check up on me. You were the blessings and miracles in my week.

an adorable tiny girl and unbelievable cheesecake!

You're probably wondering what those two have in common...! Easy they both have to do with our neighbors. Today I had the priviledge of playing with Miss Kaleigh and taking a couple pictures of her. It's been a long time since I've tried shooting indoors with an infant, it was interesting and enjoyable. As for the cheesecake...it turns out that Kaleigh's Dad loves to cook and one of his specialties is gourmet cheescake from scratch. So when they came over, they brought me 3 different slices of his cheesecake...chocolate, raspberry and lemon, and they are unbelievable. He needs to open up his own bakery! So I would have to say that it was a good Friday afternoon!

Daddy's girl

My heart is aching this morning with Aaron being gone again. Morgan has looked at her copy of this picture all morning and says that she misses her daddy- and of course my heart breaks some more. My house is too quiet, and there's this huge hole here that only Aaron can fill. I need and want him back home. (long and quiet *sigh*)

Find the Positive...Find the Positive...

I can't sleep...I can't seem to shut my mind off tonight. This deployment is too close- can't breath. So I thought if I found a few positive things from today, that maybe it might help me chill out. So here I go.
1. Had a quiet evening with Aaron (thanks to my friend Amy, who took Morgan for a couple of hours- thank-you!)
2. Aaron and I worked on a few projects that hopefully will give Morgan something to look forward to while he's gone this time.
3. I got a good haircut today that I actually like
4. Made a batch of biscotti
5. I learned how to make a cafe mocha Starbucks style, thanks to their mocha powder
6. Watched our wedding video with Aaron just for fun, which brought a lot of laughter and a few tears.
7. I had few moments by myself to be creative
8. Morgan is actually still sleeping in her own bed tonight- usually she wakes up and crawls in with us
9. I have a few more days with Aaron
10. This part of his career is only temporary- it has to be right?!
11. I am loved by my husband, my family, my friends, and my heavenly Father.
12. I am going to survive this!

Ok, I can breathe a little bit more now...until tomorrow! Going to try to get some sleep now! Goodnight!

The past week in review

This week has gone by sooo fast, and it's been a busy one in a good way. As you can see we were able to get some bigger things accomplished as well as enjoy some little things along the way. Aaron's parents and grandparents came up this weekend and we really enjoyed their company. Morgan loved all the grandparent's attention. Dad and Aaron worked all day Saturday on the swingset, and it's finally taking shape. Hopefully we'll be able to get the rest of it done this week. Life is still good!
Morgan's swingset is almost completed...thanks to Aaron and Dad this weekend

Morgan enjoying her new dress and shoes! She's definitely my girl!

We finally got the basement cleaned out and turned into a playroom! Morgan loves it!

Meet Yoda the pig! Check out his ears! haha!

Admiring one of God's amazing creations. This dragonfly was gorgeous!

Having a blast with a water fight after an evening walk!

Witnessed an amazing sunset with Aaron from our front yard.
